Cathy studied music at the Sydney Conservatorium and has performed for many years in varying ensembles ranging from instrumental trios, bands and a cappella groups to musicals. She was a member and artistic director of the a cappella group Quintessential, which performed in Sydney and at the Katoomba Christian Convention in 1995 and 1996.

Cathy is a familiar face at Katoomba Christian Conventions, having led the singing and music teams and also performed items at many of these conventions for over 15 years. Cathy has also sung at many church events around Sydney. Cathy recorded her first solo album, Worlds Apart, in 1994, and has also sung both solo and backing vocals for a number of other artists since then.

Cathy is committed to helping church musicians continue to develop their skills as they seek to serve their churches and has conducted training at churches in Sydney and further afield for a number of years. She has led sessions at the TWIST music conference and has developed and led a music strand which is run at the Next Generation (formerly KYLC) conference, to train young up and coming musicians in churches.
